Aviation Authority
The Hernando County Aviation Authority consists of seven (7) residents of Hernando County, selected by the board of county commissioners. The term of office of the members of the Aviation Authority is four (4) years (or until their successors are appointed and qualified). Terms of office commence on the first day of January of the year of appointment and expire on the thirty-first day of December of the year of termination. The members of the authority and its officers, other than an executive secretary-treasurer, serve without compensation except as to actual expenses, including travel and per diem expenses, at the rates established by section 112.061, Florida Statutes, as it may be amended from time to time, incurred in the performance of authority business. The actions of the Aviation Authority, are subject to the approval of the Hernando County Board of County Commissioners, which must ratify or approve the Aviation Authority’s decisions before they become legally authorized.
